In some cases, when it encounters a configuration issue, Cab Grid Pro generates an error or warning message. Detailed error/warning messages are usually only displayed to logged in (admin) users. They are not displayed to regular users or customers. Their purpose is to advise the administrator on what might be wrong and how to fix it.
Here are some error messages and what they might mean….
Incorrect Origin Attribute
Warning: The ORIGIN attribute of this Cab Grid Pro instance does not EXACTLY match any place name available as an origin location. Check for spelling and letter-case errors: London
The Cab Grid Pro shortcode (and widget) accept parameters (attributes) that pre-define values for the taxi price calculator. One of these is the ‘origin‘ attribute. The value set for the ‘origin‘ attribute must exactly match one of the areas or place names defined in the AREAS tab of the Cab Grid Pro WordPress Admin panel.
This error is displayed to admin users visiting/testing public-facing pages when no defined Cab Grid place name matches the value entered as the ‘origin‘ attribute (or widget setting). This could be due to a typing error in the shortcode’s ‘origin‘ attribute, or it could be that the place name itself has been changed since the shortcode was created.
- Check and correct typos in the ‘origin‘ attribute of the shortcode. This can be done by editing the page that has the shortcode embedded.
- Check that the place name entered in the shortcode ‘origin‘ attribute actually exists as a place under the AREAS tab on the Cab Grid Pro WordPress Admin page. If not, either update the shortcode attribute value (as above) or add/edit a place to match it.
Incorrect Destination Attribute
Warning: The DESTINATION attribute of this Cab Grid Pro instance does not EXACTLY match any place name available as an destination location. Check for spelling and letter-case errors: Heathrow
This error message is essentially the same error described above, but for the ‘destination’ shortcode attribute or widget value. The same possible solutions apply. See above.
No Origin Places Available
No pick-up locations found. Perhaps no AREAS have been defined or set as ORIGIN, or a group limitation is supressing places. Check the group ID assigned to this instance.
The Cab Grid calculator interface provides two drop-down menus listing locations the taxi company serves. These are populated primarily from the place names entered under the AREAS tab in the Cab Grid WordPress Admin panel.
This error message is displayed if the calculator cannot list any places in the origin/pick-up drop-down menu – either because there are no places defined at all, because no places have been assigned as pick-up (origin) locations, or because some attribute value limiting the list is not returning any valid places.
- Check places have been entered in the AREAS tab of the Cab Grid WordPress Admin panel
- In Cab Grid Pro, check that one or more places have been assigned as an ‘Origin’ location by ticking the checkbox next to places to be included in the pick-up (origin) list.
- If the shortcode/widget has a group restriction defined, check there are places allocated to the group AND that they are set as ‘Origin’ locations (in the Cab Grid Pro WordPress Admin panel AREAS tab).
No Destinations Available
No destinations found. Perhaps no AREAS have been defined or set as DESTINATION, or a group limitation is supressing places. Check the group ID assigned to this instance.
Could not submit booking request
Could not submit booking request. Please call.
This message is displayed when a booking request cannot be fully submitted. There are a number of reasons this might happen. Run through our troubleshooting guide to identify the problem. Most commonly incorrect mail configuration causes this error.
If enabled under the Cab Grid OPTIONS tab, a customer is offered a chance to pay for their journey online after submitting the booking request form (see Cab Grid process). Payment amounts can be modified with a formula set in the Cab Grid WordPress Admin panel to include a surcharge or be a deposit only.
When a logged in WordPress user (administrator) is testing the Cab Grid Pro calculator, certain informational messages are displayed describing any further calculations. This is so that payment amounts and formulae can be tested and verified.
Here are some examples of common messages. Only logged in WordPress admin users will see these messages…
Original amount modified with surcharge formula as follows: x+y=z
This message is displayed when a formula has been applied to the amount charged using this payment method.
Stripe/Paypal/Gateway would prefer a secure connection!
This message is displayed when the web page is being accessed insecurely – i.e. not over https
Most payment gateways prefer web sites offer customers a secure connection. It may not be a requirement, but it is certainly a good recommendation.
Solution: Contact your host about securing your web server (hosting space) with an SSL security certificate.
Stripe/Paypal/Gateway currency differs from Cab Grid Pro currency
This message is displayed when Cab Grid detects a discrepancy between the currency set for the payment gateway and what it believes the primary currency should be.
This usually occurs when an add-on gateway such as Stripe has a different currency defined to the currency set under the Paypal settings on the Cab Grid Pro WordPress Admin panel OPTIONS tab.
It is possible to use two currencies, but this is likely to confuse the customer… For example, if they are shown a price of £10 and end up being charged $10.
Solution: Match currency settings and symbols across the Cab Grid Pro plugin and add-on plugins.
